How personal data is handled when you use the Observatory.
This policy covers the public TCLF Skills Observatory website, enquiries and contributions sent to its team, and personal information included in institution records where applicable. A survey, project activity or restricted workspace may have a separate privacy notice identifying its own processing arrangements.
Who is responsible
The controller responsible for the processing described here is [DATA_CONTROLLER], with its registered address at [CONTROLLER_ADDRESS].

Data Protection Officer or applicable contact arrangement: [DPO_ARRANGEMENT]
Information we handle
Enquiries and correspondence. Information you provide when contacting us, such as your name, email address, organisation, message and relevant source links.
Contributions and correction requests. Information needed to assess a suggested report, dataset, institution or correction, including the contributor’s professional contact details and correspondence about the request.
Institution records. Organisational information is not necessarily personal data. Where a record includes the name or professional contact details of an identifiable individual, those details are personal data. The relevant categories published in this directory are: [DIRECTORY_PERSONAL_DATA_SCOPE].
Website operation and security. Technical information recorded by the configured website and its service providers: [TECHNICAL_DATA_CATEGORIES].
Optional services and preference records. [OPTIONAL_PROCESSING_SCOPE]. Cookies and related technologies are described in the Cookie Policy and its verified inventory.
We ask you to limit messages to information relevant to your enquiry. Please do not send passwords, identity documents or sensitive personal information through the general contact form.
Where information comes from
Information may be supplied directly by you, by an authorised representative of an institution or by a contributor. Directory information may also be obtained from official institutional websites. Evidence work may draw on published reports, research and job advertisements, subject to the rules applicable to each source.
Receiving or linking to a study does not mean that the Observatory has received all of its underlying personal data. Where personal information is obtained indirectly, the responsible organisation must provide the required source and processing information within the applicable period, unless a documented legal exception applies.
Who can receive information
Information is made available to authorised people who need it for the relevant activity, such as handling correspondence, reviewing a contribution or operating the website. The recipient organisations and service-provider categories for this website are: [RECIPIENTS_AND_PROCESSORS].
Institutional information expressly selected for publication can be viewed by visitors to the public directory. Personal correspondence and identifiable research contributions are not made public merely because they have been submitted. Disclosures required by law are handled by the responsible organisation.
Your rights
Depending on the processing and the conditions set by law, you may request access, correction, erasure or restriction of your personal data. You may object where processing relies on legitimate interests or a public task. Data portability applies to automated processing based on consent or a contract. You can withdraw consent where it is the basis for processing.
Send requests to [PRIVACY_CONTACT]. We may request proportionate information if needed to confirm your identity. Requests are normally free and answered without undue delay, generally within one month. If a permitted extension is needed, we will explain the reasons within that first month.
You can complain to a competent supervisory authority, in particular where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. Contacting the Observatory first is not a condition for making a complaint. The EDPB directory provides contact details for European data protection authorities.
